Going by the world’s standard today, having a skill is a key factor in eradicating poverty in our generation. As a saying goes, “If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.” Empowerment is one catalyst to breaking the cycle of poverty, especially in rural areas like the ones in Niger Delta Region in Rivers State, Nigeria.

In carrying out our mission statement that says “To provide opportunities and resources to empower the Niger Delta Community in Breaking the cycle of poverty”, M&G Etomi Foundation gave scholarship in skills Acquisitions to the youths of Niger Delta, in River State, Nigeria, in May this year. The scholarship is to enable them to acquire skills in Hotel & Hospitality Management (Catering), Fashion & Design, Professional Photography and Professional Make-up.
